These terms of use govern access to and use of the Chord Shuffle service. By using the site, you accept these terms.
1. Purpose of the service
Chord Shuffle is a free web application that helps you learn and memorise guitar chords through a game mode called "shuffle": the app draws chords at random and listens via the device microphone to check if you play them correctly. The service is intended for personal, non-commercial use.
2. Access to the service
Access is free, open, and requires neither registration nor account creation. The publisher does not, however, guarantee continuous availability of the service: maintenance interruptions, technical updates or discontinuation of the service may occur at any time, without notice or compensation.
3. User data
All data generated by your use (selected chords, statistics, progress, badges, preferences) is stored locally on your device in the browser's localStorage. It is not sent to a server or shared with third parties. If you change browser or clear your local storage, this data is lost — the publisher cannot recover it.
4. Acceptable use
By using Chord Shuffle, you undertake to:
- Not attempt to gain unauthorised access to the systems hosting the site (mass scraping, unauthorised penetration testing, etc.).
- Not reproduce, copy or redistribute the site's content (texts, chord data, design, code) without the publisher's written permission.
- Not use the service for unlawful or improper purposes.
5. Intellectual property
The content, design, code and Chord Shuffle brand are protected by intellectual property laws. Using the service grants you no rights over these elements, beyond the right of personal consultation.
6. Limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. The publisher cannot be held liable for any direct or indirect damages resulting from use of the service, including loss of local data, errors in microphone detection, or service interruptions. You use the service at your own risk.
Microphone chord detection is a learning aid and has no certified professional or educational value. It does not replace a music teacher.
7. Changes to the terms
The publisher reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. The version in force is the one accessible at this URL when you use the site. It is your responsibility to consult these terms regularly.
8. Applicable law
These terms are subject to the law applicable in the publisher's country of residence. Any dispute concerning their interpretation or execution shall be brought before the courts having jurisdiction in that country, subject to mandatory consumer protection provisions.
9. Contact
For any questions about these terms, see the legal notice for the contact address.
