Slide
Sliding a finger along a string between two frets.
A slide is a technique of gliding along a string: you play a note then slide your finger along the same string to another fret without lifting the pressure. The arrival note sounds without a new pick attack, creating a continuous link. The slide adds an expressive, fluid dimension to melodies. There is also 'slide guitar' in the strict sense, played with a metal or glass object — an iconic blues technique.
