Minor scale
Scale with a darker sound, the basis of minor-key rock and folk.
The minor scale follows a different interval structure from the major one (tone-semitone-tone-tone-semitone-tone-tone for the natural minor). Its sound is perceived as darker, more melancholic, introspective. The natural minor is the most common in folk and rock guitar; there are also harmonic and melodic variants that alter certain degrees for specific colours used in jazz and classical music.
